Design 1 with Mr. Edward's Nuggets aka 9th grade

This was an exercise for the 9th grade visual artists to get them to think visually and show their basic understanding of storytelling. This was a lesson in visual communication that scaffolded their larger project. The main goal was composition. Students were asked to create several sets of images.
The understated point is that the act of creating comics forces the artist to compose again and again. By doing this they make choices on what the viewer sees.
The second aspect of what they learned is how to quickly and clearly convey ideas and memories from their lives.
